- CBSE Schools conduct admission to Class XIafter the result of Class X board exams are declared. Most of the CBSE schools have their session for Class XI starting in the month of May-June.

Admission to Cambridge International A Levels:
Cambridge International A Levels is basically a two year curriculum equivalent to Class XI and XII. The Programme is accepted as an entry qualification by Universities in India & as a 10+2 qualification by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) into all professional & under -Graduate courses.
Basically A Level is a continuation of IGCSE, however, schools may offer admissions to the private students from other Boards too.
Criteria for admission depends upon the school. Few schools conducts admission tests while some take students based upon their Secondary School performance.
Students may also require to undergo a personal interview and the admission is confirmed only after assessing the performance of student in both admission tests and personal interviews.
Admission to CBSE (Class XI):
Admission to CBSE (Class XI) is open for only those students who have passed their Secondary Examination. Criteria for admission totally depends upon school.
Some school conducts admission tests or personal interviews before the admission is confirmed while in some school marks obtained by student in their secondary exam becomes the only criteria for admission.
At the time of admission a student is required to furnish the Secondary Exam Passing Certificate, Character Certificate issued by the last attended school along with the Transfer certificate.
Admission to CISCE (Class XI):
Admission to CISCE (Class XI) is open to students who have completed their Class X schooling from any school recognized by CISCE or any other recognized Board. Students seeking admission in Class XI are required to furnish:
- Transfer Certificate signed by the Head of the Institution last attended.
- Character certificate issued by the School/Institution last attended.
- Class X Mark sheet and Passing Certificate.
Student may be required to undergo admission tests or personal interviews depending on the criteria set by the respective school.
Admission to State Board:
Schools under State Boards have their own criteria for admitting students to Class XI. However, Passing Certificate of Secondary Exam is compulsory. Few schools have admission tests as the main criteria for admission.
